
The Community Transportation Association of America has contracted with LSC to assist the Upper Valley Lake sunapee Regional Planning Commission (UVLSRPC, on behalf of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) to complete a Coordination Implementation and Marketing Plan. The plan specifically focuses on public transportation coordination issues for Sullivan County.The plan will also examine the transit needs, alternatives, coordination implementation, and programs for the communities within Sullivan County.
The first interim report, Technical Memorandum #1, presents background information and a summary of the existing conditions related to transit services. General public transportation service in Sullivan County are mainly provided by Community Alliance Transportation Services (CATS) and several human service providers, detailed in this document. For some residents, this service is their only link to work, shopping, health care facilities, and other necessary services.
The purpose of this study is to analyze and recommend strategies for the existing transportation providers to implement coordination strategies and service plans which will affect the delivery of public transit services in Sullivan County. This includes development of a short-range transit plan for Community Alliance Transportation Services. The finished product of this study will describe the existing conditions in the region related to public transit services, discuss service and other alternatives for meeting public transportation needs into the future, identify the locally-preferred set of alternatives, and present an implementation plan for the next five years.
Technical Memorandum #2 presents the analysis of transit needs and potential demand for Sullivan County. The transit needs will be used to identify appropriate types of service and priorities for providing service.
Potential transit service options are presented in Technical Memoradum #3. This Memorandum also presents various organization and coordination options.
Recommendations for coordinated transportation services are provided in Technical Memorandum #4.
The Draft Final Report includes the material presented in the four Technical Memoranda along with an implementation plan. The Draft Report will be presented to the Community Mobility Committee for review and comment on July 30, 2008.
