PanTran Service Evaluation

The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority has hired LSC Transportation Consultants, Inc. to complete transit service evaluation and develop a Short Range Transit Plan for PanTran. PanTran provides public transportation service in Berkeley and Jefferson counties. The purpose of this plan is to review the existing PanTran system and develop concepts of future services and funding options that could be implemented over the next five years. It is anticipated that the draft document will be completed by mid-summer of this year.

Public input is encouraged. Over the next six months, LSC and PanTran will be conducting several public meetings and open houses to present information about the plan and obtain input from local residents. Meeting times and locations will be posted on this website.

Interim project reports will be posted on the website as they are completed. Public comment is encouraged on each of the interim reports. You may contact the Project Team by email or phone using the information below.

Technical Memorandum #1 is available for review. The information in this Technical Memorandum was presented to the PanTran Board on March 9.

Technical Memorandum #2 provides a detailed service analysis of PanTran. Public input from community meetings and passengers is also presented.

Technical Memorandum #3 presents several alternatives for PanTran service. These options were presented to the community and to the PanTran Board for input and selection of a preferred system plan.

The Final Report incorporates information from the three technical memoranda as well as the  implementation plan. The Draft Report was presented at a public open house and to the Board for review and comment. After input was received, the Final Report was prepared.
