The City of Helena, on behalf of the Helena Area Transit Service (HATS), contracted with LSC Transportation Consultants, Inc. (LSC) to update the current Transit Development Plan. The update specifically focuses on identifying transit needs in the Helena area and how to best provide public transportation to meet those needs.
HATS serves the public as the general public service provider. Service is provided through checkpoint and dial-a-ride service. The community also has a trolley from the Capitol to the downtown area. This TDP-Update will serve as the five-year plan and will provide HATS with implementation steps for improved service in the future.
