Glenwood Springs' Long Range Transportation Vision calls for an integrated transportation system that moves people and goods, provides modal choices, preserves the quality of life, and promotes economic vitality, while celebrating the small town environment. This facility would enable the community and visitors to transfer easily between many modes including bicycles, walking, carpool/vanpools, local buses, and regional buses. Connections may also be provided to Amtrak and Greyhound.
Based on the analysis in Technical Memorandum #2, a preferred site was identified which best meets the criteria. Information about the preferred site may be reviewed. Please send comments and input about the preferred site to the project team.
Technical Memorandum #1 is the first interim report for this study. The Technical Memorandum provides information about the current transportation services in Glenwood Springs, the sites that have been identified initially as possible locations, facility requirements, and initial criteria for evaluating the sites. An initial screening was completed for the sites to determine whether the site should receive further consideration.
Technical Memorandum #2 is the second interim report for this study. The Technical Memorandum presents a review of the site scoring scheme to evaluate the potential multimodal facility sites. The Technical Memorandum also outlines the weighting scale applied to each of the criteria, methodology used for scoring each criterion, final scores for each site, and a brief description of why each site was rated as positive, neutral, or negative for each criteria. Finally updated profiles of each site are included.
On February 7, 2012 public meetings were held at Colorado Mountain College to determine priorities for transportation facility needs, potential locations, and site selection criteria. The meeting announcement is below.
